Election Day 2024
November 5, 2024 has finally arrived. For all of the drama, spectacles and the ridiculous exhaustion of resources on the American “political experiment,” have culminated in the election of our lifetimes. No big deal. Just fascism, gangsterism and hooligans banging like barbarians at the gates of American democracy.

Donald Trump already had the privilege of serving the American public as the 45th president of the United States. He failed us miserably. Many people remember what that failed presidency was like. The chaos. The racism. The sexism. The sheer incompetence. The death of a million people while the world’s most famous grifter continued to balance his financial wellbeing on the backs of the American people. We remember Donald Trump for how he stained the office of the U.S. Presidency. Today, by hook or crook, he wants to do it again. He’s been doing it since having his cowardly coup put down on January 6, 2021. Grifting. Lying. Begging. Stealing. Flailing. Complaining (why is the “strongman” always a victim?). Singing Ave Maria instead of leading. If Donald Trump were any other mediocre white man who insisted on failing up to all of our detriment (again), odds are that the American people would have rallied to defend its democracy sooner. The group project is due today. It’s time to fire the clown and shut down the circus.

Since Vice-President Harris secured the democratic nomination in August 2024, the election has reset itself as a referendum on the future of America, its values and the type of future Americans believe is possible. As MAGA supporters have wailed, screamed, and insulted their way to Election Day, the America population has continued to wake up and reject Trumpism, white supremacy and ultimately the repugnant tone of whatever “great(er) version of America” Donald Trump imagines he’s going to force on us with Project 2025. Today is the final opportunity to rally around the candidacy of Kamala Harris in direct opposition to the “pain and misery” that Donald Trump and his Boer henchman have in mind for the American people. It’s also an opportunity to stand on the right side of history in opposition to white supremacy, Trumpism, classism and every other ism that regularly finds itself falling out of Donald Trump’s mouth.
Vote
Today I’ll take my son to our local polling place to once again vote to defend democracy. We did this in 2016 and I can’t recall the exact level of disappointment watching Election Night 2016 results but disappointment in the people that elected 45 was palpable. I left Post Advisory over my disgust of my colleagues' embrace of Trump. I voted with my ballot and then my feet because our CIO kept a Trump bobblehead on his desk while defending January 6th to employees as “just a couple of knuckleheads” getting frustrated. We can’t do this again America. We can’t pretend this is normal again. I never want to feel that horror of watching January 6th again. I never want my son to live in fear because of the cowardice of his fellow countrymen, colleagues or classmates because they loved their money and lifestyles more than they cared about their communities. It’s a group project. I sure hope America does its part today.
Crypto
My big political issue this election cycle, after saving democracy, has been blockchain and Web3 regulation. This election cycle, the world has discovered the wealth and reach of the crypto community. According to Stand With Crypto, there are over 52 million U.S. citizens that own digital assets. Those voters will be participating in this presidential election for the first time as an organized and resourced constituency. Crypto is on the ballot and has been in this election cycle. Good luck to the #BlockchainBoyz today.
Go Vote, America. Your future is counting on it.
